Hello all! My name is Allissa. I love my life as a wife and SAHM. My priorities are as follows: God,family, church. I have been married to my knight in shining leather since December 10,2005. He came to me not on a white horse, but a black pearl Harley Davidson. We have been inseparable since. God blessed us with our son Jayden three years ago. He has grown so much and has completely stolen our hearts with his blonde ringlets, bright blue eyes, and sweet smile. We are excitedly preparing for the arrival of his little brother, Julian, due August 8th,2011. We have two pets. An 86+ lb
horse American Bulldog, Cashmere whom oftentimes doubles as a couch for Jayden to lounge on. We lovingly refer to her as our Marshmall-OAF. There is also Jayden’s teddy bear hamster whom he calls Monkey George(of Curious George fame). We live peacefully in the country and are less than 30 minutes from the beach.
If you were a fly on the wall of our home, you would need to have a deep love for music. You would catch me singing all day long whether it’s practicing a song for church or another event, along with a song on my playlist, or my favorite-singing a medley of songs to my Jayden before he goes off to dreamland. We sometimes make up silly songs to make every day things more interesting. One of the ways that I feel the closest to my Maker is by singing. But one of the other ways, which is why you are here at this site, is through painting. My God is a very creative artist. If you look around yourself, you will see more shades of color than you can even count. That is because God thought that it would be much more beautiful if we all looked different. So instead of seeing it as a negative thing, whisper a “Thank You” to the Ultimate Artist. The reason that I am able to express myself through any art form is because He loved me enough to send his Son, Jesus to die on a cross for my sins. Every piece of artwork that I do is inspired by Him. One of the most exciting things about painting for me, is being able to put a smile on someone else’s face or bring a “happy” tear to their eye. When you look at a painting that I’ve created, I want you to feel something. Positive, negative, I’m not really concerned as long as you feel some sort of emotion. My high school art teacher, Mr. David Kline taught me that. He is famous for drawing the Heisman Trophy winners(that’s football for non-sports fans. It’s a big deal, especially in Canton,Ohio. ) One thing I liked about being his student, is he *NEVER* drew/painted a picture as an example for us. He did not want his students to be carbon copies of him. But he did show us the basics so that we would know where to begin. It was art class where I began to gain confidence and find out who I was made to be. Possibly a little ‘out there’ to my peers, but they all began to expect it from me:) Not much has changed in the way of being a ‘little different’ than those around me, but I can use it to my advantage:) We are all original works of art made by the Creator. One of my favorite lines comes from the children’s book, You Are Special by Max Lucado (illustrated by Sergio Martinez).
“Remember,” Eli said as the Wemmick walked out the door, “you are special because I made you. And I don’t make mistakes.”
My prayer for the world, is that everyone will find who they are meant to be. May my artwork inspire you to BE FREE!
Grace & Peace, Alli V.
